Joseph grew up in Davao City then later moved to Cebu City to finish high school. It was in college (University of San Carlos) where he had initial contacts with Catholic Charismatic and Pentecostal worshipping communities.
He is married to Lulu Umali (BBC ’86) and has three children (Justin David, d.o.b. 1991; Alyssa Mariel, 1993; Jan Isobel, 2004).
Dr. Suico’s ministry experience includes pastoring local churches in the Cebu, Pasig, Baguio and Davao. He also served as youth director for Southern Tagalog District Council from 1987 – 1990. While a pastor in Ugong, Pasig, Joseph also taught courses at Bethel Bible College (BBC Extension, Cubao) and Manila Bible Institute (Pentecostal Holiness). From 1991 to 2009, he served as faculty/administrator at the Asia Pacific Theological Seminary (APTS) in Baguio City (Dean of Students, Director for Research and Resources, Editor of Asian Journal for Pentecostal Studies ). He was president of Philippine Association of Bible and Theological Schools (PABATS) from 1996 – 1998. He is now the lead pastor of Holy Ground Family Fellowship, Inc. in Davao City since 2012.
